A simple way to size your move before you reserve, room by room.
Most people underestimate. The easiest way to size a move is to count bedrooms first, then adjust for how much you own and how you pack.
A quick rule of thumb
Start here and adjust up if you are a heavy packer.
- Studio or one bedroom: about 30 totes
- Two bedrooms: about 40 totes
- Three bedrooms: about 60 totes
- Four bedrooms and up: about 80 totes
Adjusting for your household
Kids, hobbies and a full pantry all add volume. If two people have lived in the same home for more than five years, move up one package.
Running short mid-move is the one thing you want to avoid, so when you are between two sizes, choose the larger one.
